BENEFACTOR REPORT
Paul Farmer MD ’88 PhD ’90 Memorial Scholarship
George Q. Daley, MD, PhD
Thank you for your steadfast dedication to financial aid at Harvard Medical School through the Paul Farmer, MD ’88 PhD ’90 Memorial Scholarship Fund. I’m pleased to share a profile of this year’s recipient, John Jachimiak, a Pathways student in the Class of 2028 whose commitment to health equity is reflected in his care and advocacy for patients experiencing homelessness.
The financial aid program is an embodiment of our core belief that cost should never be a barrier to attending HMS. Your generosity to the Paul Farmer Scholarship Fund, especially as one of its first supporters, is a powerful expression of a commitment to carry forward Paul’s extraordinary legacy.
Even in an ongoing uncertain financial environment, we remain resolute in our obligations to financial aid and health equity. It is with your support that we can continue providing opportunities for our outstanding students, including those devoted to ensuring high‑quality care is accessible to everyone.
Financial aid allows students to fully engage in their education, research, clinical work, and to pursue careers defined by impact and service—just as Paul did. Thank you for helping educate and inspire the next generation of medical leaders in his memory.
